Boat Description: Colona VI is a 28m liveaboard that has been operating in Thailand for many years and has a well deserved reputation for reliability and customer service. The have a production line of good quality dive staff which can make or break a liveaboard trip. Colona VI accommodates just 14 guests in 7 air conditioned en-suite cabins, making this one of the cheapest boats with en-suite cabins. It is a popular boat for divers on a budget but who still want a few luxuries like private bathrooms. Colona VI is also a popular boat with solo travelers and tends to attract a very mixed bunch of divers. Colona VI departs from Phuket Island and runs trips north to the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock as well as trips south to Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa and the Phi Phi Islands.
Colona VI cabins: There are 6 standard twin bunk bed cabins on the main deck. Cabins are air conditioned (not individually controlled) and have en-suite bathrooms with cold water shower. All cabins have seaview windows. There is one double bed cabin on the upper deck. It is also air conditioned and en-suite. All cabins have a mini bar fridge and 220 Volt (2 pin) electrical outlets.All cabins have cupboard storage. The open air saloon on the upper deck is where all meals are served and is the social hub of the boat. At the rear of the saloon is a comfortable cushioned area for relaxing or sleeping. There is a TV, DVD player and stereo system in the saloon area along with a marine life ID book library and a selection of DVD movies and music CD's.. The top deck is a large sundeck with sun mats for catching some rays between dives. The dive deck is large with storage space for equipment under each tank station and a central area for camera equipment or on site repairs. Tanks are 12 litre aluminum. Nitrox is available to Nitrox certified divers and Nitrox cert courses are possible on board. PADI advanced open water courses are also possible and can be easily integrated into the normal dive schedule. PADI Specialty courses can be arranged with advance notice. The Colona VI has one inflatable tender with 40hp outboard engine. Rental dive equipment can be ordered in advance. Torches are included free of charge for night dives. Food is served buffet style in the open air saloon and is a mix of Thai and European cuisine. Snacks and fresh fruit are available all day. Fruit juice and yogurts are free of charge. All dietary needs can be catered for. Tea, coffee and water are all free of charge. Beer and cans of soft drink are extra. |
