Boat Description:

MV West Coast Explorer is a popular liveaboard dive boat in the lower budget range. They have a good reputation and offer good value cruises to the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. Young travelers and individuals like the West Coast Explorer.

Cabins on West Coast Explorer are twin bunkbed cabins with air conditioning. The main deck cabins are preferable and we recommend that you request the front cabins which are largest.

There are three shared showers with cold water (although water is never that cold in Thailand).

The saloon on the upper deck is joined to a large shaded area which is the social hub of the boat and is where meals are served. There is a TV, DVD and music system plus a library of fish ID books.

There is a large sunbathing area with sun mats on the upper deck.

The dive deck is well organized with storage space, space for camera gear and separate fresh water rinse tanks. PADI Advanced and specialty courses can be completed onboard.

Food is served buffet style and is mainly Thai/Asian with some European dishes.Tea, coffee, drinking water are provided free of charge. Fresh tropical fruits and snacks are available all day.
